The Obama - Singh Dashboard of 2010
New Delhi, November 3, 2010

As the U.S. and India prepare for a historic visit of the Obama presidency to India, the Imagindia Institute today released a unique tool – a “Obama-Singh Dashboard” which shines light on key issues and challenges facing the two leaders and both countries.

Ranging from speculation and suggestions on what President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will discuss in private, to a question-bank of five hard-hitting questions which Indian media must ask President Obama, the dashboard also recommends that the Joint Press Meet between the two leaders must be held against the backdrop of India’s imposing Rashtrapati Bhawan so that the images beamed around the world carry a grandiose message.

The dashboard also suggests a discussion on how India can help in President Obama’s re-election in 2012, and advocates for a grand Thorium Partnership – along with other big bang issues like UNSC seat, and the Kalam-NSS space energy initiative.

“We designed this tool to stimulate the imagination of publics in India and the U.S. Such summits are rare and historic. We both must be bold and push our best to generate maximum benefit of this occasion”, said Robinder Sachdev, president of Imagindia Institute.

Pointing to the importance of words and images that will be generated during the Obama visit, Sachdev also asked, “We wonder. Will the joint communiqué emerging from Delhi correct the tilt from the Obama-Hu communiqué of Nov 17 2009 – will Obama invite India to play a role in East Asia?”
