Manish Thakur, New York City
Manish has lived and worked in New York, London, and Hong Kong for nearly 20 years as an investment banker, principal investor, and global strategist. During his career, Manish has worked on privatizations, initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity investments at such financial institutions as Merrill Lynch, SG Cowen, and HSBC. Through his many assignments, Manish has gained a particular focus on investing in, and raising capital for, emerging markets. His clients have ranged from as far afield as Indonesia, Russia, Mexico, and Malaysia, with a particular focus on India. Manish was co-founder or Hudson Fairfax Group, and India focused investment firm which ran a hedge fund, and whose board included a former chairman of US Securities Exchange Commission, and a former chairman of Securities and Exchange Board of India. Manish has appeared on CNBC, Bloomberg, etc. to discuss investing in India. In addition to his work in finance, and as an advisor to Imagindia, Manish is also the National Security Coordinator for US India Political Action Committee, and has served on the Business Council of New York's Asia Society. Manish currently also chairs the Sovereign Wealth Committee of the Hedge Fund Association of America.
